This 1970s dress by London designer Susan Locke recently made an unexpected full circle.
After I sold it, the buyer wrote to tell me he would soon be seeing the designer herself — his partner’s aunt — and planned to show it to her. Not long after, he shared these photos of Susan Locke reunited with her original design more than fifty years later.
She was delighted to see the dress still in such good condition. It’s a rare and meaningful moment when a garment returns to its maker, and a reminder that well-made clothing can carry history forward in very personal ways.
