A wallflower this dress certainly is not. Made in the 1950s, the dress was born to dance, with its full circle skirt. The dress is made of sheer organza of man-made fiber with vivid red used for the rows of narrow ruffles, and for the lining. The light red or pink fabric is printed with white flowers. Ruffles trim the puffed sleeves and V-neck as well as parading around the skirt on triangular gores. I show the skirt over a crinoline slip here, which will not be included, but the there is a great deal of fullness already with both the cut of the skirt and the crispness of the fabric. The waist is piped. There is a long back covered metal zipper. The dress has no label and may have been very skillfully homemade; I'm not certain of its origin.
