50s Vintage Pink Flowered Grey & White Striped Seersucker Sundress & Jacket

Cotton sheath dress and waist-length jacket with original tag

Perfectly poised for spring and summer, this dress and jacket suit is made of crisp 100% cotton seersucker in fine grey and white stripes. The fabric is over-printed with pink and green flowers. The jacket body, along with the upper 2/3 of the skirt, are lined with white cotton.

The dress is a sheath in cut, and has sun-loving spaghetti straps made of the seersucker cut on the bias. This same bias piping is used around the top of the dress, and around the waist. There are pairs of pleats falling from the waist on both sides of the front. Long back covered metal zipper; overlapped slit at the back hem.

The jacket has short cuffed sleeves, white plastic buttons and a fitted cut, with darts into the waist. The tag with the suit reads Toni Babs Jrs.–New York City.

Condition: Excellent, with an original tag. I’m not certain that the outfit is unworn, but it is certainly in very fine shape.
