Halter neckline, matching tulle shawl…the very best of a fine label
This is a truly breathtaking 1950s formal by Emma Domb. It is relatively uncommon to find to find a formal gown of this type in red, and this isn't just red, but red printed with gold and silver bows and garlands. The red is a flattering off-red, what I would call tomato red. The long dress is in layers, with the decorated tulle over plain red tulle over red taffeta. The fitted, strapless bodice has a halter-style strap from below the bust. There is a wide panel from the waist to the bust. Side covered metal zipper. Also, delightfully still with the dress is a long shawl of the printed tulle.
Size: Bust = 33.5" (18" across the front, 15.5" across the back); waist = 25"; hip = full; side bodice length = 8"; waist to hem = 42"
