Glamorous beaded bodice and rayon crepe gown by Kornhauser Original
Dating from the first half of the 40s, this long dress is in an unusual autumn-centric shade of orange rayon crepe, unlined. The dress is wonderfully embellished with hand beading, including—more autumn—leaves. There are shoulder pads and the 3/4-length sleeves are darted near the elbows. There is shirring at the shoulders into the front bodice. The beading ends above the waist with a curving, sweetheart contour which is picked up by the fan of darts opening below the waist. The dress is fairly lean in cut with the long skirt not flaring much. There is a front rounded slit at the hem. The dress is labeled Kornhauser Original.
