Beautiful ruched waist and big back bow
Spectacular for a party or other formal affair, this late 50s dress has no label but certainly was commercially made. The dress is mainly gorgeous iridescent peach taffeta, with a rust cotton velvet upper bodice. The bodice is lined in the peach taffeta, and the very full skirt is made extra full with a tulle interfacing, and heavy lining. The bubble hem is the pièce de resistance!
The wide waist panel is ruched, gathered into the center front, side seams and center back seam. The big bow snaps over the back. Its long “ties” are actually attached to the skirt all the the way to the hem. There is a long back covered metal zipper.
Size: Bust = 34" (about 18.5" across the front, 15.5" across the back); waist = 24.5"; seam at upper hip = 33"; hip = full; top of shoulder to waist = about 14"; top of shoulder to hem = 42.5"
